Richmond Magazine Best & Worst
Everybody loves to read the Richmond Magazine Best and Worst issue
and this year was even bigger than ever. A winner in three categories,
Ruth's Chris Steak House offered to host a party for all of the
winners and PUNCH was there behind the scenes. Click
here to check out the video from the party, a joint effort of
PUNCH and Grogan Video. What's hot in Richmond? According to some
of the guests: the weather, love, Richmond Magazine, and Ruth's
Chris.

PUNCH Receives Design Award
PUNCH is proud to have been selected as a 2006 winner of the American
Graphic Design Awards. The awards were sponsored by Graphic Design
USA, a national periodical devoted to all things graphic design.
PUNCH won for its own identity package, which included the logo,
business cards, letterhead, and envelopes. We are featured in December's
300-page annual. To read all about it, please visit us at www.theartofimpact.com. |

PUNCH Surprise!
Our long-time client, Sports Backers, charged us with injecting
an element of fun into the Ntelos 8k. If you ran it, you would have
been happily surprised to find the PUNCH staff cheering you on and
introducing the PUNCH Surprise: the River City Burners. The Burners
danced with and juggled fire much to the delight of everyone who
saw them. Advertising, Web design, street festival... we pretty
much do it all. Read

We're branching out! We here at PUNCH are wild about paper products.
So, we're launching a new subsidiary called "INK & PAPER." Offerings
will include note cards, wrapping paper, and other paper goods.
Our first product out the door—a holiday gift trimmings set—
profited ART 180. ART 180 creates and provides art-related programs
to young people living in challenging circumstances, encouraging
personal and community change through self-expression. Take a look
at our site to learn about future projects and products: www.inkandpaper.com.

Early this fall, a distinguished older gentleman named Francis
Vergaras strolled into our office and announced that he was born
here 80 years ago. Literally born here (somewhere in the vicinity
of Ken's desk). He doesn't remember much about good old 1213 West
Main Street, as his parents soon moved to more spacious accommodations,
but he had been meaning to find his birthplace for years. It makes
us wonder what else our office has been between Francis' birthplace
and PUNCH's office. You gotta love a city that recycles! |

Designer Sarah Shannon
People
are forever asking our designers how they can keep coming up
with fresh ideas in a fast paced, demanding work environment. PUNCH
designer Sarah Shannon offered these suggestions:
"When I have a new creative, conceptual project to work on, I
can find
inspiration literally anywhere: from books to clothing patterns,
movie posters to architecture. One of my favorite things is something
we do here in the office a few times a week called 'designer forum.'
All the designers bring in inspirational pieces that they have collected,
and we discuss and share them with each other. It's a fun way to
learn more about design, and a good cure for the occasional mental-block." |
