Richmond Animal League
Background: Richmond Animal League (RAL) initially assigned PUNCH the task of creating materials for Woofstock, one of their big fundraising events. This included a Woofstock logo, brochures, banners, flyers, ads, shirts, posters, etc. With the success of the Woofstock materials, we were then asked to redesign the actual RAL logo. PUNCH was thrilled to be a part of the rebranding of Richmond’s oldest non-profit, no-kill humane society.
Challenge: The original RAL logo has been around for 30 years and is very familiar to Richmonders. It was important that in designing a new logo we didn’t lose their identity. This in mind, our task was to take something old and make it fresh and fun for 2009 and beyond, but still keeping with their original idea.
Additionally, the new logo needed be approved by RAL’s board of volunteers and sponsors.
Execution: Taking cues from the original logo, PUNCH made the new design cleaner and more thought out. This meant keeping the animal elements as part of the logo, but showing them in a new and clever way.
Impact: RAL’s desire to keep working with PUNCH is a clear indicator of their satisfaction with the work that we do. Since the approval of the new RAL logo, we have created new brochures, palm cards, posters, applications, banners, signs, and business cards and stationery. We have since begun creating materials for RAL’s program, The Loving Clinic—a logo, brochures, banners, flyers, ads, shirts, posters, etc.
