Where’s the Booty?

On Saturday, June 30th, a bold crew of PUNCHERS used their wits and wiles to ALMOST win the Anthem Quest for the Cure.  Ravenchase Adventures created treasure hunts for three groups of supporters, with awards being given for corporate, adult, and family teams.  PUNCH’s team competed for Connor’s Heroes and the $15,000 raised benefited it, and several other agencies that assist children with cancer and their families.  These groups include ASK, the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit, Comfort Zone Camp, the Grace Oughton Cancer Foundation, and Special Love.

PUNCH nearly won the corporate division but wound up 2 minutes too late!  Tragic?  Yes.  But also lots of fun and for a good cause.  Participants included Sarah Shannon, who designed the logo for the event, Rich Trevillian, also known as “new guy,” Cassandra Wilder, Charlie Connell, and a few friends.  They pounded the pavement of Carytown, armed with a map and a few trinkets that helped solve a series of clues and puzzles.  Along the way, they encountered a few characters who provided needed information, until they arrived at the judges’ table, with all the answers.

Sarah Shannon, a PUNCH designer, and treasure hunter says, “The highlight for me was solving that first clue.  We tried so hard to figure it out and finally, after about 45 minutes, Charlie put it in the fountain and once the paper was wet, the clue became visible.  Who would have thought?”

After the treasure hunt, the party moved over to the Richmond Kickers game where extra fun games and activities for kids were enjoyed and the Kickers won their match to boot!
