Spotlight on a CMoR Supporter
Children’s Museum of Richmond, January - February 2006 Newsletter (excerpt)
“We support the Children’s Museum because we know how much our own children love taking part in the Museum’s programs,” explained Kelly Adams, mother of Claire, 8 and Carmen, 3. Kelly is a CMoR member, volunteer, and supporter. She is also a managing partner of PUNCH – a Richmond-based design and advertising firm. “Seeing how much my children gain from their time at the Museum, I know other children must also really enjoy their visits. And giving my time and support to the Children’s Museum helps every child who comes here.”
Kelly became involved with the Museum several years ago. Since then her firm, PUNCH, has produced many of the Museum’s publications, including this newsletter, and most importantly, they were instrumental in the design of Seymour, the Museum’s new mascot. “It’s wonderful to know that something you worked on is bringing such joy to children. Seymour debuted last summer, but kids already know who he is and what he represents.”
As a CMoR member, Kelly encourages everyone to support the Children’s Museum’s Open Doors – Open Minds Scholarship Fund. “Every dollar I give goes to helping low-income children visit the Museum. It’s a great way to teach my girls about giving back to our community.”
