PUNCH WINS GOLD!
The National Public Health Information Coalition awarded its highest award, the Gold Award, to a product designed by the creative folks here at PUNCH for the Center for Injury and Violence Prevention. In the category of “outsourced brochures,” PUNCH’s design beat out hundreds of worthy opponents.
The National Department of Public Health seeks to improve America’s health through the NPHIC. When faced with the task of communicating a complicated message about safety, the creative juices at PUNCH went beyond the boring old brochure stand-by, and came up with a series of tip cards. These cards cover such topics as gun safety, preventing baby and toddler falls, fire prevention, bike safety, domestic violence and suicide prevention, and car seat safety. “Not only are the cards attractive, but they deliver a clear, important message in English, as well as Spanish,” states Kelly Adams, managing partner of PUNCH.
The Center for Injury and Violence Prevention (CIVP) is a division of the Virginia Department of Health that focuses on the prevention of unintentional, intentional, and self-inflicted injuries. The tip cards designed by PUNCH are being distributed by the Virginia Department of Health in community centers, public health centers, DMVs, doctor’s offices, hospitals, senior centers, and anywhere in Virginia that the CIVP determines these messages are needed. PUNCH is honored, not only by the Gold Award, but to be involved in such important work that benefits the entire community.
PUNCH specializes in print advertising and design, corporate identity and branding, multimedia design and illustration, as well as media planning. The firm’s clients include Jamestown 2007, Richmond Ballet, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Genworth Financial, the Nature Conservancy, and the Children’s Museum of Richmond.
