PUNCH Volunteers to Help Homeless Animals

PUNCH, a full-service creative firm located in Richmond, recently volunteered their time at the Carytown Watermelon Festival that took place on August 14, 2005.  Helping man the Friends United with the Richmond Shelter tent from 9:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., PUNCH made sure that the Festival crowd took time to give some smiles and hugs to the homeless dogs and also dig into their pockets for much needed donations.

“Volunteering at the FURS stand really made me appreciate what hard work goes into adopting the dogs into good homes,” said Heidi Gould, a production assistant at PUNCH and also an owner of two FURS dogs.  “If it wasn’t for the FURS organization, many of these wonderful dogs would not be able to live the full lives they deserve.”

FURS, an all-volunteer, non-profit dog adoption group based in Richmond, is dedicated to collaborating with the Richmond City Animal Shelter to place Shelter dogs in permanent, loving homes.  Every weekend, weather permitting, FURS sets up a stand in Carytown for the public to meet a few of the dogs.  Or visit them at http://www.fursdogs.com to see all of the dogs that are trying find “forever” homes.

Punch specializes in print advertising and design, corporate identity and branding, multimedia design and illustration, as well as media planning. The firm’s clients include Jamestown 2007, Bella Rosa couture bridal salon, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, BIZPORT, the Nature Conservancy and the Children’s Museum of Richmond.  For more information about Punch, visit http://www.theartofimpact.com.
