PUNCH Does Lunch For New Client

Imagine the lunch lady from your elementary school, and you’ll likely picture a grandmotherly lady who looks over your tray and says, “Show me your money, honey.” She would add up the numbers in her head and make change that way, too. She may even narrate and add to your educational experience, “So that’s $1.75 and you have $2. How much change should you get back, sweet pea?” That is a time long gone, with over 122 million lunches being served per year in Virginia schools alone. Keeping track of such a large program these days requires state-of-the-art technology and record keeping.
