Dip, Duck, Dive, Dodge, and PUNCH
PUNCH has been a supporter of Children’s Miracle Network in many ways including manning lemonade stands and creating Web sites. So when we found out about the Chick-fil-A Charity Dodgeball Tournament to benefit the Children’s Miracle Network, our staff said “Dodgeball? Just tell us where and when, baby.” Besides having a great design team, we are also employing a few 4th grade dodgeball champs who have been itching to get back in the game.
On Saturday, October 21, at the Greater Richmond Convention Center, PUNCH was one of 400 teams who played to support the tournament’s beneficiaries, Children’s Miracle Network and Schools for Niger, Africa. The stakes were high as we played 14 hard fought games. We won a few and lost a few more. But our heads were held high through sweet victories and humiliating defeats. Knowing you helped raise nearly $90,000 takes some of the sting out of losing. “Once again Chick-fil-A has demonstrated their unwavering commitment to improving the local and international community and PUNCH is proud to have played a small part,” said Charlie Connell, PUNCH managing partner. “Our only real disappointment is not winning free Chick-fil-A for a year.”
Kelly Adams, PUNCH managing partner and hard-core hurler said, “It was inspiring to see so many people participating in this event. We had a great time as a team and felt proud to be part of a community that can pull together like this. We would definitely participate in this event again, although maybe without the bull’s eye on our shirts. That may have been a strategic error on our part. All in all, though, it was a memorable day.”
